During the lockdowns of Covid-19, essential services such as police, fire, EMS, criminal and civil courts, law firms, and any other associated services, all went electronic, remote and wireless, to maintain movement and to avoid gridlock in the court process. Court hearings and all of the associated court document filings went essentially paperless.
Courts, legal offices, and the related court proceedings, all found a way to do things remotely, electronically or wirelessly.
The problem...
All of the above still required individuals and entities to be served with legal documents "service of process". The process of getting those documents delivered didnt change, get faster, or more efficient with all the other services listed above.
Documents were created, and filed with the court electronically but the documents still had to be printed or emailed to a "serving agent" who added the documents to their growing list of documents to be served. This process in most cases takes days and even weeks. If someone needed documents served faster, if you could get it done, would cost double or triple to be moved to the front of the line.
Once the documents were served, the "serving agent" had to stop work and create a "Return of Service" document. That document was then sent to the "Case Originator" to file with the courts. Getting this document also slowed the process.
Enter, SRVD...
SRVD founders saw a need and a way to expedite and streamline this process.
SRVD takes all of the above and automates the process. Think of ride share. Ride share automated the process of getting a taxicab anywhere in the world. The user gets on an app and requests a ride. A few minutes later your ride arrives in a clean vehicle and takes you to your destination. Following the ride payment is made electronically.
In similar fashion, SRVD takes the process of delivering documents to new levels. The "Case Originator" opens a case and uploads the documents to SRVDs secure server. The SRVD App will find you a serving agent close by in seconds or you can pick your own "preferred agent" in the SRVD App. Once the "serving agent" is chosen, the SRVD App electronically delivers the documents to the "serving agent" who will then print and serve the documents. The "Case Originator" can watch this process real-time on their computer as the "serving agent" takes the documents and delivers them.
When the "serving agent" arrives at the designated location, the SRVD App will GEO locate him/her to the correct location. As the "serving agent" delivers the documents, he/she takes a photo to confirm delivery. The photo is held in the SRVD App as evidence of delivery.
The "serving agent" then clicks a button on the SRVD App to confirm completion. He/she selects the documents delivered and attaches his/her digital signature.
Once signed by digital signature, the "Case Originator" receives a "Return of Service" document instantly. No more waiting days.
Payment is then made to the "serving agent" electronically through the SRVD App.
With SRVD, documents can be sent to the "serving agent" in milli-seconds, delivered and served on the recipient within minutes, and the "return of service" document filed in the court within seconds. The entire end-to-end transaction can happen in less than an hour.
